The improvements with the all-new Thomas Cook are far reaching beginning with a considerably enhanced library of movies for long haul flights. On short-haul flights there will be a selection of two films available that cabin crew will use to tailor to the passengers in the aircraft at the time.
If you are in need of a little retail therapy then you will not be disapointed as passengers will be able to select from names such as Lola Rose jewellery, Billy Bag products and Tom Ford fragrances for men. For those passengers travelling within the premium cabins they will be treated to duvet quilts rather than blankets and u-shaped pillows designed specifically for enhancing comfort on flights.
The preparation for the upgrading of Thomas Cook airlines has been well planned with 18,000 crew days in total being completed ready for the new service that will place new and challenging roles for many of Thomas Cook Airlines staff. The aircraft have been re-painted in new liveriews using some 17,000 litres of paint and an incredible 5 million flight manual pages have been ammended and modified.
Thomas Cook Airlines managing director Frank Pullman said, “We’re very pleased to have our new airline ready for take-off from East Midlands Airport, enabling us to serve the people of the East Midlands even more effectively during the all-important summer season this year”. The reason behind the re-branding of Thomas Cook Airlines was due to a merger with MyTravel meaning that preparations needed to be made for the groups 3.2 million passengers. In total Thomas Cook passengers will be flown over 50 million miles by 600 pilots and to 78 destinations served by 2,000 crew members.
