Heathrow Security Scare Man Appears In Court

A man who ran in front of an aircraft at Heathrow Airport last week has appeared in court charged with endangering aircraft and breeching security.

The security scare sparked a huge security alert at the airport as many suspected a terrorist attack as the man was carrying a rucksack. A controlled explosion was carried out by bomb disposal officers however was found to contain no explosives.

Ketheeswaran Uthayakumar, 27 is believed to have climbed the airport security fence before running into the path of an aircraft at the airport and was arrested shortly after by airport police. The security scare occured the day before The Queen was due to officially open Heathrow Terminal 5.

Uthayakumar, who has no permanent address appeared at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court yesterday and is to be remanded in custody until he appears back in court on the 22nd of April for trial.
