First Terminal 5 Landing Will Be By Female Pilot
Wednesday 26th March 2008British Airways have announced that the first ever landing at Heathrow Airport's Terminal 5 building will be commanded by a female pilot. The flight designated BA026 will arrive from Hong Kong at 4:50 GMT on Thursday afternoon.
Capt Lynn Barton was British Airways first female pilot in 1987 and said, "I was incredibly proud to have been British Airways' first ever woman pilot and now I have another first to my name. I never thought of being anything other than a pilot when I was growing up, i'm already planning my passenger announcement for the first ever landing at T5. I want to make sure that I mark the occasion so that every one of my passengers can be part of history too."

Today British Airways has embraced a steady flow of female pilots wishing to join its ranks, and currently has 175 female pilots including Capt Barton.
