Heathrow Airport Gets Poor Ranking

Tuesday 25th March 2008

Heathrow Airport has been ranked 103 out of 162 after an international survey asked passengers to rate airports that they had used.

The survey was compiled by Skytrax, an airport consultancy firm which asked 7.8 million airport customers to rate airports that they had travelled to on points such as traveller concerns, convenience, staff manners and bathroom cleanliness. Unfortunately Heathrow Airport only attained a position of 103 as complaints were logged regarding security queues, immigration control, baggage processes and worst of all international connections which was rated the eighth worst in the world.

Overall the airport achieved 116th place for general cleanliness, 105th for its toilet facilities and 154th for ease of use. However on the positive side it achieved 42nd place for duty free shopping and 72nd place for its restaurants and eateries, staff too were rated fairly highly in 79th place for friendliness.

The airport that achieved the highest rating was Hong Kong International Airport which won best airport and was ranked highly for its eateries and security arrangements.
