New Flight Route Opened From Edinburgh To Alicante

Wednesday 12th March 2008

A new flight route between Edinburgh and Alicante has begun from low-cost carrier Ryanair.

The first flight of this new route flew last week and offers a range of four different services for its passengers that are flying to Spain. Ryanair expect around 60,000 passengers to take their flights to Spain each year. Alicante was even described by a Ryanair representative as "the gateway to the Costa Blanca".

The flights appear to be particually suitable for passengers wishing to travel abroad in the winter. More flights to Spain will follow later this year when flights from Edinburgh Airport will be made available travelling to destinations such as Malaga and Palma.
