Birmingham Airport See Passenger Increase
Tuesday 11th March 2008Passenger numbers at Birmingham International Airport rose dramatically by around 1000 yesterday as diversions caused people to use it due to bad weather at their original airport. Not only that but Birmingham announced record passenger figures for February.

The severe weather that was hampering many airports across the country did not affect Birmingham Airport much at all and as a result flights and operations ran smoothly and to plan. Flights from Heathrow and Manchester also had to be diverted to Birmingham due to unsuitable conditions in the Manchester and London areas for flights.
The Head of Corporate Affairs for Birmingham Airport John Morris said "The BIA team has really pulled together here this morning, and as well as welcoming diverted passengers, we've even got a few flights away a little earlier than scheduled."
