London City Airport Awarded 'Superbrand' Status

The rapidly expanding London City Airport has been awarded 'Superbrand' status after business leaders and professionals recognised its facilities and operating procedures as excellent in their field, it came in at position 415 out of a possible 500 positions available. It is the only airport in the UK to have been awarded this honour and comes just after it celebrated its 20th birthday having opened in 1987. Today 12 airlines run from the airport's convenient London location only 3 miles from Canary Wharf.

The chief executive of London City Airport is pleased about the recognition of the effort the airport has made and said, "More and more business travellers are recognising the benefits of London City Airport as it is located on the doorstep of the City and Canary Wharf."

Within the aviation business sector London City Airport were not the only group to be awarded a position in the top 500. Also featured were British Airways which was placed in 8th position, Easyjet at number 180, Emirates came in at number 155 and Virgin at number 28.
