Potential Investors Take Interest In BAA Airports

Monday 3rd March 2008

Potential investors are ready to purchase any one of Britain's largest BAA airports if airport chiefs decide to sell.

Even BAA's main airports such as Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted could be sold whilst the Spanish owners undergo an inquiry after they were accused of limiting competition in the UK.

The results of the enquiry are expected next month and suspicions are that a break-up will be recommended. The Australian banking group Macquarie is said to be interested in discussing the purchasing of certain BAA assets although it is not clear currently which they may be interested in.
