Travel From Manchester To Liverpool In 10 Minutes

Thursday 28th February 2008

A state-of-the-art transportation system is planned to connect Liverpool and Manchester and bring travel times down to just 10 minutes.

The route is being proposed by the UK Ultraspeed company and is working in conjunction with The Mersey Partnership to attempt to find potential backers for the system.

The principle is similar to the Bullet Train in Japan that involves the entire train 'floating' above rails on magnetic fields allowing incredible speeds to be achieved. The speeds are touted as being around 300mph for a system such as this.
