New Plans Proposed For Stansted Airport Flightpaths

Friday 22nd February 2008

New plans for changes to Stansted Airports flight path have been proposed to limit the ammount of residential areas that aircraft are flying over.

It has been noted that the continuous descent approaches would be introduced for flights arriving on the easterly runway and would mean that aircraft would be higher in the air for longer which would reduce noice for residents and pollution. Changes to the flight routes mean that the proposals would remove around 8,000 people from the Stansted flight routes which is a total of 67%

In addition to these proposals the flights would also generally be routed away from villages and town sapring many more people from aircraft noise at all hours of the day.
