BAA Make Significant Investment In Glasgow Airport

Friday 1st February 2008

Recent announcements have indicated that Glasgow Airport is to receive millions of pounds for the development of the airport. Plans are in place for BAA to make a capital investment of 50% in the coming year which will benefit both passengers and airport staff.

The areas that are planned for development are flooring, seating, lighting and improved security facilities. However the major portion of the cash is to be put into the development of the new Skyhub development at the airport.

Gordon Dewar, the managing director for Glasgow Airport had the following to say after the announcement of the investment, "It promises to be an exciting year for the city's airport, with a massive 50 per cent increase in infrastructure spend, including the biggest single investment made by BAA Glasgow for a generation, the new skyhub development. When it opens in nine months' time, skyhub will transform the experience for passengers using Glasgow Airport, offering state of the art security screening and a wider choice of bars, shops and restaurants for a fast, safe and enjoyable airport experience."
