Heathrow Airport To Welcome A380 In Europe For First Time

Thursday 31st January 2008

Heathrow Airport will be the scene of a historic landing in March as the A380 makes its first appearance in Europe. Singapore Airlines will operate the flight from Changi Airport to London Heathrow.

The carrier's manager for the UK and Ireland Marvin Tan said it was, "a proud moment not only for Singapore Airlines but also for British aviation", as the aircraft's wings were built in the UK and its engines manufactured by Rolls-Royce."

Singapore Airlines are currently operating the two of the A380 aircraft that run on flights from Sydney to Singapore.
