Power To Stansted Airport
Wednesday 30th January 2008A power cut can have a very serious effect on an airport. With so many important pieces of equipment such as runway lights and beacons a power outage can be critical and life-threatening. Stansted Airport in Essex are aware of this and have just had a new stand-by power system installed ensuring that no matter what the electrical emergency they can keep running as normal
Stansted Airport have just had seven new NiCad batteries installed by Powercell Industrial Battery Engineers Ltd. An eighth system is currently in the process of being installed. The batteries will be maintained by Powercell for the next five years ensuring that any emergency involving power does not stop the airport running normally.
