Ferry Services Resume Into Dover

Wednesday 16th January 2008

Following flooding across many parts of Kent and industrial action by fishermen in France the ferry services from the Port of Dover have finally resumed. The traffic problems resulting from the tailbacks this has caused has meant that the main M20 motorway into Dover has been closed overnight with Operation Stack in full effect.

All cars attempting to access Dover and Folkestone have been forced to take alternative routes such as the A20 as all lorries entering Dover and Folkestone have been parked on the M20 motorway waiting for a resumption of the ferry services. Anyone planning to travel to Dover or Folkestone should keep up to date with the traffic situation as it is changing minute by minute with the backlog or lorries stacked on the motorway still causing excessive delays.
