Aberdeen Airport Suffers Passenger Numbers Fall

Tuesday 15th January 2008

Aberdeen Airport has reported a fall in passenger numbers for the second year in succession despite 2007 being its busiest year.

Statistics released by BAA indicate that between January and December 2007 3.4million passengers used the airport  which equated to a 7.9% increase over 2006. However in December a year on year fall was recorded totalling 2% and in the first case for over four years passenger numbers fell by 2.3%.

When asked about the drop an airport spokesman was reported to say that the drop indicated some changed flight routes and was not of concern to the airport.
