Flybe Announce New Aberdeen - London Service

Low cost airline Flybe have announced the introduction of a new flight operating three times a day from Aberdeen to Gatwick Airport. The new service is a culmination of talks between the airline and Aberdeen Airport since British Airways withdrew its service in 2007.

Following the announcement the Chief Commercial Officer Mike Rutter had the following to say, “The London Gatwick to Aberdeen service is of great strategic importance to Aberdeen and we’re delighted to be able to fill the gap and take over this abandoned route from BA…We view Scotland as an extremely important part of Flybe’s growth plans and we’re constantly looking at ways to strengthen our position in the country”.
