Passengers Face Potential Baggage Chaos
Friday 4th January 2008As of next week changing baggage rules across the UK risk causing chaos as different airports adopt different rules.
The Department For Transport has relaxed the baggage rules for hand luggage at 21 airports around the country. However other airports are to remain unchanged with their stance towards the restrictions. This unfortunatey is set to cause many problems as passengers attempt to understand the rules at the airports they are flying from and what the regulations will be at the airports they fly to.
In addition to the change in regulations at airports many airlines are set to change their hand luggage restrictions as well which appears to only add to the confusion for passengers. However it is worthy of note that many airlines such as Easyjet will not be changing their hand luggage regulations.
All of this means that in theory many passengers will have to call the airline and airport before travelling to ensure they are aware of the baggage regulations that are permitted at their airport and with their airline, which is clear to many will cause considerable confusion.
