Soldiers From Iraq Stranded At Prestwick Airport

Wednesday 2nd January 2008

It has emerged that 130 troops returning home from Iraq were left stranded at Prestwick Airport on Christmas Eve when they were due to land at RAF Brize Norton to spend Christmas with their families.

Apparently no arrangements were made to transport them back to the RAF base in order for them to see their families. It is reported that RAF staff had 15 hours notice of the change of arrangements however they claim that they had had no orders to make onward travel arrangements.
