BA to fly direct to Las Vegas

Tuesday 19th May 2009

British Airways has added a new route from London Heathrow to McCarran International Airport to fly nonstop daily, starting on 25 October.

BA flies daily to 18 cities in the US, 19 with the addition of the new destination, and insists that there is a growth opportunity despite waning of the tourism industry.

Las Vegas visitor's bureau vice president Cathy Tull said the new route was the result of a decade of work to bring British Airways to the airport.

A Boeing 777 aircraft will fly passengers between the two locations with tickets going on sale today (May 18) from £467 including taxes and charges.

British Airways head of sales UK and Ireland, Richard Tams, said: "We know how to fly high rollers in style and we will be the only airline to fly non-stop from Terminal 5. It is the ace in our pack and we are going to play it for all its worth."
