Gatwick expects influx of travellers for Bank Holiday
Gatwick airport is expecting a rush of Bank Holiday travellers this Monday as it prepares for higher passenger figures over the long weekend.
The London hub expects around 325,000 passengers to pass through between May 1 and May 4.
The majority of passengers flying out of Gatwick are heading for the Spanish coastal city of Malaga or to Dublin airport in Ireland.
Other popular destinations include Edinburgh, Madrid, Alicante, Faro, Palma and Tenerife.
The airport issued reminders of the 100ml limit for liquids and to check with their airline's baggage restrictions.
Gatwick airport serves around 34.2 million passengers each year, making it the second busiest airport in the UK. Stansted airport processes 12 million fewer passengers than Gatwick annually.
