Tough New Check-in Procedures At Terminal 5

Thursday 27th December 2007

Any visitor to Heathrow Airport's new terminal will be facing a zero tolerance policy, which will be, show up for your flight at least 35 minutes before it closes or you will be a 'no show'. This will be 'set in stone' and there will be no exceptions.

It is undeniable that the reason for this policy is to improve the punctuality of British Airways who will be the only operator at the new Heathrow terminal. British Airways do not have punctuality targets that are particually demanding however often fail to meet them. This is something that they aim to correct with the introduction of this rule for terminal 5.

Recent statistics suggest that only one in three flights from British Airways depart on time . It is believed to be because of this that British Airways have taken such a strong approach to passenger punctuality. Reports suggest that the approach being used by the airline is almost unprecedented.
