Airport Safety Restrictions Placed On Belfast Airport

Limitations on property development in the area around George Best Belfast Airport have come into force.

This has been necessitated by a need for safety and will also be introduced at other UK airports. The need for this safety zone is in the event of an aircraft overshooting the runway and the safety zone would hopefully minimise the casualties that would occur, as unlikely as an event like this is!
