There's increased competition for London's second largest airport after Manchester Airports Group joined Virgin and easyJet in the bidding war.
Richard Branson's Virgin Atlantic has formed a consortium to bid for London Gatwick Airport with easyJet with MAG reportedly joining.
Manchester Airports Group, which owns Manchester, Bournemouth, East Midlands and Humberside airports announced it would be bidding for either one of BAA's London airports, Gatwick or Stansted, or one of its Scottish properties, Edinburgh or Glasgow.
Analysts estimate that the sale of Gatwick could fetch up to £3 billion.
