Liverpool John Lennon Airport was the scene of an emergency exercise last night at 7.30pm (18th November) and will continue on Sunday 23rd of November running between 10.30am and 12.30pm.

The reason for the exercise is to test the emergency services currently in place at Liverpool John Lennon Airport. Also tested will be other agencies related to the emergency facilities at the airport. The tests are to simulate a full scale emergency requiring the full resources of the airports emergency services.

The exercise on Sunday will see around fifty people involved. The simulation is a requirement of the CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) and must take place every two years.

PLEASE NOTE: The exercises are not expected to affect passenger travel.
