Robin Hood Doncaster Sheffield Airport Opens New Reptile Tunnel
Monday 17th December 2007Robin Hood Doncaster Sheffield Airport has seen the opening of a new access road containing what builders claim to be the first reptile tunnel in the UK.
The new road was built at a cost of £5 million and features a stretch of road with a cycling lane that stretches for 1km. The area is to be planted with around 6,000 trees and plants.
The reptile tunnel is a novel design bult to help protect reptile living areas and give new environments for them to habitate. Of course the tunnel is installed with the correct heating and lighting although has designed so that local wildlife do not use it as a location to hibernate.
