Management at the terminal have ensured that the passenger process has been sped up allowing more time to relax and shop. This has been achieved partly due to the 96 self-service kiosks that have been installed as well as the 96 fast bag drop desks. Current figures indicate that 95% of flights operating at the terminal are arriving and departing within 15 minutes of their scheduled times. Passengers are now able to pass through security in just 5.2 minutes with 8.5 minutes being touted as the average time. The experience that many passengers encountered earlier this year was enough to give the terminal a poor worldwide reputation, but the turnaround is a testement to the hard work that has been put in to re-build the reputation of it and provide BA passengers with a first class service, whether they are travelling for business or pleasure.
