Virgin Atlantic And Easyjet In Possible Gatwick Bid
Friday 14th November 2008
A possible bid for Gatwick Airport by both Virgin Atlantic and easyjet appears to be a possibility.
BAA are looking to make £2.5 billion from the sale of the London airport after a ruling from the Competition Commission. However current estimates seem to indicate that a more realistic sum of £1.5 billion will be the eventual price the airport is sold for. Despite the cash reserves of both airlines it is inevitable that both easyjet and Virgin would require the backing of other financial groups to make the plans possible.
Any further news on the planned bid will be covered here on Compare Airport Parking.
