Manchester Airport Celebrate British Travel Award

Wednesday 12th November 2008

Manchester Airport is celebrating after being awarded the title of Airport of the Year at the British Travel Awards.

The award was given on the evening of the 6th of November in London in recognition of the airport achievements whilst handling 22 million passengers every year. The British Travel Awards are the largest awards programme in the UK and the awards are highly valued. Awards are made based upon the opinions of both travel professionals and consumers.

The British Travel Awards cover a huge variety of topics such as tour operators, travel retailers, airlines and airports. Winning an award will be after evaluation such as service levels and facilities.

Commenting on the award was Andrew Cornish, Manchester Airport’s Managing Director who said;

"We are very pleased and proud to have been presented with this award especially as it is voted for by some of the most experienced industry professionals in the travel industry. We pride ourselves on giving the passengers the very best possible experience and it is great to see that the industry recognises that hard work and commitment.

This treble achievement really recognises the hard work and effort that everyone across the airport has put in over the past year and demonstrates that MAG is raising the bar in the industry for the high standards in its airports."
