Leicester Skylink Sees Increase At East Midlands Airport

East Midlands Airport's Leicester Skylink has seen a 61% increase in passengers compared to the previous year.
The Leicester Skylink first opened in October 2006. After launch the first year in operation saw 38,000 passengers being carried to and from the airport by the service. Between October 2007 and September 2008 the quantity of passengers increased and saw over 61,000 being carried. This equated to a 61% increase in passengers that had decided to make use of the service.
The Skylink Marketing Manager Kelly McHugh commented on the increase by saying; "Skylinks good value fares and frequent operation are helping to drive the impressive passenger growth. The increase in passengers using the service demonstrates that passengers are embracing public transport before travelling aboard."
