Mouthwash Security Scare At Belfast Airport

Monday 17th December 2007

An African woman has been arrested by Belfast International Airport security staff after being discovered with a container full of liquid strapped to her leg. Analysis on the liquid later confirmed that it was mouthwash however sources indicate that at the correct intensity the substance could have been used to create an explosion.

A man travelling with the woman was also arrested in connection with the incident and taken to Antrim Police Station for further questioning. Both of the suspects were seen 'acting nervously' before they were searched adding suspicion to the incident.

It is reported that they have now been permitted to leave Northern Ireland after having all details checked.
