Stansted Airport Could Face New Scanning Strikes

Monday 8th September 2008

A fresh round of strikes could be occurring at Stansted Airport after staff rejected a 2% pay increase.

The baggage scanning staff - who are members of the GMB - held strikes on Bank Holiday Monday, and have been voting to decide if any further action will take place. Tuesday will see the result of the ballot announced with union officials seemingly confident that workers will support another walkout.

Stansted Airport have moved to calm passengers fears indicating that flights during the previous strike were not affected.
