Liverpool John Lennon Airport Launches Dedicated Police Force
Friday 5th September 2008
Liverpool John Lennon Airport have launched their own dedicated police force.
New government legislation concerned the airport regarding a multi-million pound cost for security that they could have possibly been landed with. The legislation would attempt to remove some of the responsibility for policing the airport from Merseyside Police. The new legislation would also take the responsibility from Merseyside Police and put the responsibility on the airport owner.
The funding for the brand new police force has come from the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) and the hope is that the new officers will give passengers and staff a new feeling of security as they use Liverpool John Lennon Airport.
