Large Heathrow Expansion Programme Begins In 2008

Friday 14th December 2007

Heathrow Airport is becoming out-dated and is running at full capacity. Action needs to be taken, and it is with the launch of a development programme in 2008 that will transform the busy airport into an up-to-date, efficient service.

The first and most important of the new developments is the opening of Terminal 5 in March 2008. Also permission for a third runway and six terminal is to be requested as many are worried Heathrow will lose its major airport status unless this is achieved.

Heathrow is urged to take action as the reports of delays and lost baggage are becoming very common. This is to the extent that Britains competition watchdog recommended that there be a cap on BAA's service charge due to the high levels of disatisfaction experienced amongst many passengers.
