Schipol Group Express Interest In Glasgow Airport Ownership
Wednesday 3rd September 2008
The recent announcement by the Competition Commission that BAA could be forced to sell some of its airports has raised speculation that Glasgow Airport may be the one to go.
As a result of the speculation the Dutch group who own Schipol Airport in Amsterdam have emerged as potential new owners after expressing in an interest in its purchase. It is believed that they may also be interested in Edinburgh and Aberdeen Airports if they were to be made available for sale.
The news that the Dutch group are interested in the possible purchase of Glasgow Airport could prevent any attempts to merge the airport with the Manchester Airport Group (MAG).
