Laser Teenager Ends Up In Crown Court Over Aircraft Incident

A teenage boy accused of shining a laser at two aircraft at Durham Tees Valley Airport will appear at Crown Court over the incidents.

Ben Philip Vout, 19 of Stockton is alleged to have negligently endangered aircraft safety on two occasions. The first incident took place on the 17th of August when he shone a laser at an approaching KLM airliner. The other incident was when the light was shone at a Police helicopter during a search of the Darlington area.

Vout did not enter a plea and a decision was reached by the magistrate to hear the case at Crown Court. Vout was granted bail with the case due to begin in October.
