Ryanair Boss Dismisses Stansted Airport Purchase Rumours
Tuesday 19th August 2008Michael O'Leary, the outspoken boss of Ryanair has dismissed any rumours that his airline may make a bid for Stansted Airport, should the Essex hub come up for sale.
Mr O'Leary has confirmed however that he would work closely with any group that decided to take the airport on and cemented his point that Ryanair has never had any interest in purchasing the airport. He went on to say that the new owners would be welcome to consult Ryanair on their views on how to build an airport terminal for £220 million, a runway for £150 million and increase passenger capacity to 40 million passengers every year.
Mr O'Leary has confirmed that in his opinion should Gatwick and Stansted Airports come up for sale that they should be purchased by two different groups to ensure runway facilities are developed at both airports.
