Rugby Star Lands Old Club With Huge Car Parking Bill

Tuesday 12th August 2008

It has emerged that a rugby player has left his club with a £1,500 bill after he left his car at Manchester Airport when he moved to New Zealand after splitting with his club in a less than friendly way.

The car - a Rover worth just £700 was left in a car park that charged £26.50 per day. The car was left for a total of 54 days resulting in a whooping £1,432 parking bill! The club only realised what was going on when the keys of the car were posted to them. After a considerable search the car was tracked down at the car park sitting smongst 20,000 other vehicles. It was located in Terminal Two short-stay.

Fortunately for the club the car park bosses decided to let them off the fees and they ended up paying no money for the mistake. Since the incident the car is now being used for another of the clubs players. The club have also quipped that the owner of the car park should be made a honorary member after letting them off the entire bill!

The player that left the car in the car park was Pat Weisner who split with the club after suffering with several injuries, he is now living in New Zealand with his girlfriend and is training to become a policeman.
