Heathrow Airport Control Tower Evacuated

Sunday evening saw a fire alert at Heathrow Airport that ended with the control tower being closed for forty minutes which ended in delays and cancellations for passengers.
According to the British Airport Authority (BAA) the alert resulted in some short-haul flights being delayed or cancelled as Heathrow Airport airspace was basically closed for forty minutes. A spokesperson for Heathrow Airport said that the alert had a major effect on the airport as the airport had been full at the time with the last cancelled services being this morning, however services have now returned to normal.
