Michael Schumacher Stuns Taxi Driver By Taking Control

Thursday 13th December 2007

A taxi driver had a day to remember when Michael Schumacher found himself short on time on his airport journey and took the wheel in order to get there in time.

The stunned taxi driver reports that Schumacher, 38 politely asked if the taxi driver minded if he took the wheel as he had a licence. The driver allowed this and Schumacher drove arriving with only minutes to spare.

Tuncer Yilmaz claims that Schumacher drove at high speed throwing the car into corners and overtaking in incredible places that he thought were not possible. The driver was well rewarded as on top of the cab fare of £43 he received a tip from the seven times world champion of £72 plus an autograph.

When asked how fast Schumacher drove the taxi driver would not comment claiming that he 'did not want to get him into trouble, but it was the turbo charged trip of a lifetime'.
