Luxury Holidays Still Booming Despite Credit Crunch

Monday 11th August 2008

Manchester Airport bosses have claimed that travellers are booking holidays to more expensive and luxurious locations attributing it to the current exchange rate.

They have gone on to explain that less holidaymakers are planning to travel to Europe due to the strength of the pound compared with the Euro. Despite the credit crunch it seems as if passengers are still choosing to fly further afield for a holiday that would often be cheaper than a trip to Europe.

Figures released by the Visit USA Association indicated that figures for 2008 showed an increase in arrivals by 11% to 343,000 over 2007 for holidaymakers making their way to the U.S.A.
