Glasgow Prestwick Sees Passenger Increase

Glasgow Prestwick Airport has seen an increase in passenger numbers for June as well as the airport seeing record numbers for the last year of operation.
In total June saw 222,940 passengers use the airport which was a 3% increase compared to June 2007. It was also an increase over May passenger numbers. The increase in passengers has been widely attributed to a 36% increase in charter passengers using the airport with Prestwick now outperforming its main Scottish competitors.
The record for the busiest day at the airport currently stands at 10,000 passengers which was reached on the 27th of June.
