BAA Launch Legal Action Against Ryanair
Monday 4th August 2008The British Airports Authority (BAA) have started legal action against the budget airline Ryanair to force them to pay a 15% airport charge at Stansted Airport.
The dispute began when Ryanair wrote to BAA in May this year and informed them that they would not be paying the airport charges that begun on the 1st of April. Ryanair have lodged a document with the Securities and Exchange Commission in which they criticise the pricing from BAA and and suggested that they were exploiting their dominant position.
The dispute between Ryanair and BAA is long-standing and reports suggest that Ryanair are pushing ahead with plans to ground 15 aircraft in a protest against the prices at Stansted Airport.
