Manchester Airport Limit Firework Displays In Local Area

Manchester Airport have introduced a set of new regulations to limit large fireworks being set off near the airport.
The move is to protect aircraft flying to and from the airport and states clearly that any fireworks set off within a five mile radius of the airport must not fly above 200 feet. Any fireworks that are let off between five and seven miles of the airport will not be allowed to fly above 800 feet and any between seven to ten miles will not be permitted to fly above 10,000 feet. Any person not taking notice of this could be imprisoned for endangering an aircraft - a sentence that can carry a five year prison sentence.
The airport has also announced that between the 1st of November and the 7th of November they will be planning to suspend flight for fifteen minutes in order to let bonfire night celebrations take place.
