New Rail Link For Birmingham International Airport

A brand new rail extension will soon be providing a direct rail service from mid-Wales to Birmingham Airport.

The extension is due to be completed in December 2008 with the Aberystwyth to New Street Link completed and then allowing the trains to carry on to Birmingham Airport. By the end of 2008 a serivce that will be much the same operating from Chester to the gateway will also be opening.

The rail link appears to justify its use by recent figures released that show Birmingham International Airport saw one million passengers passing through its concourse in June this year.
