Legoland Windsor

Beckonscot Model Village
The worlds oldest model village is just a short drive from Heathrow and
is located at junction 2 of the M40. Housed within a 1.5 acre site
there are six small villages depicting life in rural England in the
1930's. The village was the product of one mans imagination - Roland
Callingham in 1929 and continues to this day to donate large amounts of
money to charity. The village benefits from a ride-on train for
youngsters as well as a gauge 1 railway for adults and children. The
village is open from the 12th February to the 30th October daily 10am
to 5pm.

The London Eye
If you only have time for one attraction in London then this surely
must be it! The London Eye's giant ferris wheel will ascend you to a
height of 450 feet and offers a 360 degree panoramic view of London,
and it is the worlds tallest observation wheel. The total time for this
'flight' will be 30 minutes and will give an experience that is hard to
match. The London Eye is closed on the 25th December and from early to
late January, it is advisable to check the website for opening dates as
these can be changeable.

Windsor Castle
The official residence of Queen Elizabeth II and the largest occupied
castle in the world Windsor Castle retains a working environment to
this very day. Visitors are permitted to walk around many areas of the
residence and view this royal fortress and palace with its rich history
spanning back 900 years.

London Zoo
Founded in 1824 and opened to the public in 1828, London Zoo was the
first scientific zoo in the modern world. A vast array of animals await
you including such favourites as Penguins, lions, giraffes, monkeys,
fish and spiders. It is a fun-packed day out for all the family.

Gatwick Aviation Museum
Located very close to Gatwick Airport is the Gatwick Aviation Museum. Featuring classic aircraft such as the English Electric Lightning, Hawker Harrier and Gloster Meteor the museum fields an impressive collection of over 20 aircraft from various eras in aviation.There are no specialist disabled facilities at the museum however the outside exhibits are on flat ground and although not all areas of the museum are possible for wheelchairs most will be suitable.
Entry Prices: adults: £3.50, children (5-16): £2.50
All proceeds go to the museum and assist in keeping the aircraft in good condition. Annual membership is available at a cost of £13 which gives entry to the museum for one year and members receive regular newsletters and updates.
Opening times: 2, 9, 23 September, 7 October (10am - 4pm), if you wish to visit outside of these dates then the museum asks that you contact them before visiting so that there will be someone available to show you around the exhibits and aircraft.

Crawley Museum Centre
The Crawley Museum Centre contains exhibits illustrating life in the area from the Bronze Age to the present day. There are many artefacts from the iron age that have been excavated from local sites. There are also costumes and textiles on display as well as science and technology based themes.

House On The Hill Toy Museum
Owned by a father and son team of Alan and Jeremy Goldsmith The House
On The Hill toy museum is the largest private toy museum in the world.
Featuring some 80.000 toys there is something for everyone including
Daleks, dolls houses, Meccano, trains, vintage slot machines and even
Princess Diana's children's bicycle! Also included in the admission
price is entry to Mountfitchet Castle and The Dinosaur Experience.

Museum of Harlow
This museum traces the history of the town of Harlow through Roman,
Saxon, Georgian and Victorian times right up to the development of the
new town of Harlow. This can be done by touching some of the exhibits
and even being able to try on costumes from the various eras. All of
this is housed within a 19th Century stable block which is part of Mark
Hall manor.
All the attractions are accessible via disabled ramps as well as the
gardens and toilets, there are also nappy changing facilities on site
for parents as well as free car parking at the rear of the museum
building.

Mountfitchet Castle
Located next to the House On The Hill Toy Museum Mount Fitchett Castle is an attraction steeped in history. Originally an Iron Age fort it also was used as a Roman signals fort and then was attacked by William the Conqueror who built a settlement there. The attraction today recreates the way things were at the time of William the Conqueror and allows the visitor to explore the various areas as well as experience the various animals that wander the grounds, it is a fun filled trip back in time for all the family.
Due to the steep nature of a castle grounds there are steps to the
main entrance however there is also a ramp available to give access to
the site for wheelchair users. There are also disabled parking spaces
located just outside the site that also have disabled toilets.
