John Lennon Statue and The Yellow Submarine at Liverpool Airport
If you are short of time and only have time to view something quickly then fortunately Liverpool Airport can provide this. It will not escape any visitor that there is a strong connection to The Beatles throughout the airport with special focus on the iconic singer-songwriter John Lennon. Currently housed at the airport is a 7ft bronze statue of John Lennon that is hard for any individual in the check-in hall to miss. The statue was officially launched by Yoko Ono and prime minister Tony Blair along with his wife Cherie Blair in 2002 and is worth taking a closer look at if you have any interest in the Beatles.
Continuing with the Beatles theme located on the traffic island near the entrance to the airport is the Yellow Submarine. Originally constructed in 1984 for the International Garden Festival in Liverpool it was moved to its current location in 2005 on a 5 year loan agreement. Now refurbished and permanently on display the famous submarine is already 2 years into its agreed loan period so if you can get to see it and you have time it is well worth a look, especially for any Beatles fan.
The Beatles Story
Housed near the historic Albert Dock in Liverpool is the The Beatles Story. The aim of this experience is to illustrate the rise to fame of four ordinary 'Liverpool Lads' to the dizzying heights that they achieved in the 1960's and 1970's. The show begins at a Village fete in Woolton when Paul McCartney tells of how he met John Lennon, you are then transported through time and follow every step of the Beatles careers through the use of replica stages and clubs, you can even look through John Lennon's famous glasses! There is a whole host of Beatles nostalgia housed under this one roof and even someone who knows little of the Beatles will enjoy this rock'n'roll trip through time, not to be missed! The Beatles Story,

The Yellow Duckmarine
Continuing with Liverpools fascination with the Beatles is the amusingly named Yellow Duckmarine. Although its name is directly influenced by the Beatles that is where the association ends. This is fun pure and simple! The Duckmarine craft is a world war 2 amphibious machine that simply drives into the harbour and takes you on a history rich tour of Liverpool. Your journey begins on land driving along the historic waterfront before the 'splashdown' in the Salthouse Dock and then making your way by water to Albert Dock, it is a ride you will never forget! The Yellow Duckmarine
