When travelling back from abroad, provided the goods you have bought are 1) for your own personal use and you can prove this and 2) the amounts are within the guidelines you will have no problems. However, if you are unable to prove that the items are for personal use, or you are over the limit then Customs have the right to detain your goods.

A guideline for product amounts permitted per person:

• Cigarettes 3200
• Cigarillos 400
• Cigars 200
• Smoking Tobacco 3kg
• Alcoholic Spirits 10 litres
• Wine 90 litres - of which not more than 60 litres is sparkling
• Beer 110 litres
• Fortified Wine (port/sherry etc) 20 litres
