Company History
2004
Compare Airport Parking was created in 2004, within Holiday Extras to highlight what was available in the parking market. The site was a simple template based design in green and yellow and offered the visitor a wide collection of car parking options from six major suppliers. The concept was sound, but the airport parking market was a changing environment, and with more and more similar competitors launching, the Holiday Extras team responsible for the Compare site were redeployed on other projects.
2006
A change in priorities see the Compare website re-examined and proposals were made to re-launch the Compare brand under new leadership and remote from the Holiday Extras business.
2007
Just as the first re-vamp of the Compare site is ready for launch, the management changes hands and current manager Andy Skinner, takes over the day to day running of the site and the team of three.
Compare decide to offset all carbon emissions from the running of their website, via Co2Balance.com, ensuring Compare does not leave a carbon footprint.
2009
The Compare website adds hotels in a low key launch to attempt to diversify out of a purely parking market.
2010
The Compare website undergoes another face lift. This time all gimmicks and cartoons have been removed. Additional products and suppliers have been added to the Hotel portfolio with a new appearance of Lounges.
This is soon to be followed up with the introduction of UK car hire and UK Ferry pages, with more to follow later in the year.
